Privacy Policy
The Six Pages
Last Updated: May 24, 2026
Attorney review pending — final revisions to follow
1. Overview
The Six Pages ("the App") is an emotional wellness application designed to support reflective writing and self-exploration. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how that information is used and stored, who may access it, and what rights you have regarding your data.
By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App is operated by Six Pages Studio, LLC. Questions about this Policy may be directed to support@thesixpages.app.
2. Information We Collect
a. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your display name
- Your email address
- Authentication credentials, managed through Firebase Authentication (Google LLC)
If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from those providers in accordance with their own privacy policies.
b. Content You Write
The App is a writing app. The content you write — your reflective responses across the six pages, your replies to AI responses, your session notes, and any other text you enter — is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database operated by Google LLC. This content is not stored locally on your device only. It is stored in the cloud in order to support your ability to return to previous sessions, continue where you left off, and access your history across devices.
c. AI Interaction Data
The App uses Claude, an AI developed by Anthropic, PBC, to generate responses to your writing. When you submit writing for an AI response, the following occurs:
- Your text, along with relevant session context, is transmitted to a Cloud Function hosted on Google Cloud Run.
- That Cloud Function forwards your content to the Anthropic API for processing.
- Anthropic generates a response, which is returned to the App and displayed to you.
- A record of the AI exchange, including your input and the AI response, is stored in Firebase Firestore as part of your session.
Your content is transmitted to Anthropic in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.anthropic.com/privacy. We encourage you to review Anthropic's policy to understand how they handle data submitted through their API.
d. Crisis Interaction Logs
The App includes a crisis support feature. If language you write is detected as indicating potential emotional crisis, you may be routed to a dedicated crisis support conversation within the App.
When this occurs:
- The full text of your crisis support conversation is stored in Firebase Firestore as a crisis_chat_log.
- The timestamp of this log is also recorded.
- This log is retained separately from your regular session writing.
Why we retain this log: The crisis support log is retained for user safety purposes. In the event that a user's wellbeing cannot be confirmed, this record may document the last known state of a user's communication with the App. This is a safety-motivated design decision, not a data collection objective.
Because this log exists for safety purposes, it may be retained even after you delete your account or other data, where retention is necessary for safety or required or permitted by law. See Section 7 (Your Rights) and Section 8 (Data Retention) for more information.
e. Technical and Usage Information
The App may collect the following technical information in the ordinary course of operation:
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Error logs and crash reports
- Session activity data (e.g., pages visited, features used)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the App's core functionality, including storing your writing and generating AI responses
- Allow you to return to previous sessions and continue your work
- Detect language that may indicate emotional crisis and provide appropriate in-app support resources
- Maintain a safety log of crisis interactions for the purpose described in Section 2d
- Improve App performance and diagnose technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your personal writing or AI interaction content to train AI models.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase, a cloud platform operated by Google LLC. Firebase stores data on servers that may be located in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and storage of your data in these locations.
Firebase is secured using Google's infrastructure-level security practices. Access to your data within Firebase is controlled by Firestore security rules, which are configured to restrict access to authenticated users only.
Your writing and session data is not encrypted at rest beyond Firebase's standard security practices.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
5. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services. Your use of the App involves transmission of certain data to these providers:
- Google Firebase: Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) — Google LLC Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Anthropic: Anthropic Claude API (AI response generation) — Anthropic Privacy Policy: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party providers. We encourage you to review their policies.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at support@thesixpages.app and we will take steps to delete that account and its associated data.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access the data we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of your data, subject to certain records that may be retained for safety or legal reasons, including your crisis interaction log (see Section 8)
- The right to withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
- The right to data portability
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@thesixpages.app. We will respond within 48 hours.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 48 hours of account closure, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
Your crisis interaction log is an exception. Because it exists for safety purposes, it may be retained separately even after you delete your account or other data, where retention is necessary for the safety of any person or required or permitted by law. We retain this record no longer than necessary for those purposes.
Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be linked to an individual may be retained indefinitely for App improvement purposes.
9. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With third-party service providers listed in Section 5, as necessary to operate the App
- When required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority
- To protect the safety of any person, including in circumstances where we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent harm
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case users will be notified
10. Consent to Crisis Interaction Log Retention
By using the crisis support feature of the App, you acknowledge and consent to the following:
- If language you write is detected as indicating potential crisis, a record of your crisis support conversation will be stored in our database as described in Section 2d.
- This record is retained for safety purposes, as described in this Policy.
- Because this record exists for safety purposes, it may be retained even after you delete your account or other data, where retention is necessary for the safety of any person or required or permitted by law, as described in Section 8.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email to the address associated with your account. Continued use of the App after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this document.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your data rights, please contact us at: support@thesixpages.app.
